I'd like to set up a charity page to get sponsorship not to buy Blair's book to raise money for the Royal British Legion. I think I could not buy it many thousands of times quite quickly, but the British Legion is compelled to appear polite about the gift and linking to them might cause embarrassment. What other gesture could I make which would not cause too much offence, and possibly help the Crouch End branch

Let's not forget that we all voted in unprecedented numbers to elect Tony! It's our fault that we created, refined and promote a system of government where the powerful can do what they like, in the teeth of public opposition.
How about we go the way Australia may go and, when this Queen ends her reign, form a Republic?

Chris, I know of a few 'republics' on the other four continents "where the powerful can do what they like, in the teeth of public opposition" though they never had a queen.

I think it's a trap to fall into personal accusations - won't make any difference. Do you really think that? I don't know how corrupt Tony is/was, but I guess he's no more corrupt than, say, the current or any previous PM, is he?

Strange that Will, when he was still in power & popular, the tories used to boast that he was just copying all their ideas... and everyone else seemed to think he was a tory too.. but alas, it was all an illusion.. just like Cameron's 'big society'
