General Election: Anyone Still Undecided?
Most of us have a very limited range of choices in Thursday's General Election. From my recent posts on this site it's clear I don't want to vote Tory. Nor do I want to vote for a pro-genocide candidate. Which is what we'll get with Starmer. And as he has told us Labour now belongs to him. And anyone caught breathing out-of-tune can get purged. So does it matter that Starmer isn't on the ballot form? Won't Haringey's MPs be following Keir's 3-Ems? Murder-Mutilation-Malnutrition?
I used to have a poster printed by Islington Anarchists. But that would be a cop-out. Anyone else in a similar predicament?

You find it odd that politicians get advice from people with expertise? It’s possible to run a successful airline without knowledge of aerodynamics and engineering - you have people to let you know if the fleet of planes you are considering buying are dead ducks.

I don't!. But you said "So all those people employed to advise because (sic) their expertise are a waste of money then?" for no apparent reason which I found to be a bit odd.
Politicians clearly need to take advice from specialists. That's how government works. It's the same in the private and not for profit/charity sector. A leader needs to rely on expertise and recommendations from specialists.
However, it's the leaders who need to make the decisions and be accountable for them. They need to balance the recommendations, sometimes contradictory, sometimes unrealistic and sometimes just wrong or poor from specialists.
Experience, intellect, the ability to manage resources and risks, and an understanding of the environments they work within (eg. Budgets and stakeholders) are required in order to decide which recommendations to follow.
And that, I'm assuming, was Martin's point above. In order to be able to make those decisions well you need to have experience running, producing or providing something at scale in the real world (and by that I mean one subject to merit and competition).

Another comment for the Undecideds.
I suspect that many people now realise that our voting system is now a major barrier to democracy.Made worse by the spiral down to presidential-style campaigning. Whether for Nigel; Bunjee-jump-Ed; or the truly appalling My-Party-My-Party-Starmer.
If anyone is still toying with the thought of voting for Sir Keir then the latest article by Asa Winstanley may interest you. Even If his local candidates are not wise enough to realise what he's about. we needn't let ourselves be taken for suckers.

I saw an interesting video which summarised the same conclusion I came to many years ago.

My praise "Esther Cohen", for your honesty owning up to sharing the far right political views of Simon Webb. I notice that Mr Webb also writes Westerns under the pen-name of Harriet Cade. Are they any good?

I'm glad you found it informative 'Alan Stanton'.
I've not read the Westerns but have seen a couple of Mr Webb's videos. They're quite objective, informed by common sense and independent thought.
However, if he starts asking me to consider the works of obscure, navel gazing academics or terrorist sympathizers to support his arguments, I might turn to those cowboy and indian stories instead.

I posted a jokey reply an hour ago. I then deleted it. My sense of humour is not to everyone's taste. And there are more important things right now than jokes.
