Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

What’s happened to Zasman vet Stroud Green? Gone or bought out by medivet?

Does anyone know what’s happened to Zasmans in Stroud Green. They’ve been our most used vet for our cats for years, but when we try and call now we just get placed on hold with Medivet and never answered and the website bumps straight to medivet.

Does anyone know what’s happened to them or can you recommend a good local vet? We are on Eade rd.

I hope this finds everyone will on a beautiful crisp late autumn day.

Text from a Medivet job advert:

Hampstead Village is one of our Zasman Vet clinics which have been part of the Medivet family since 2018.

Hills Vets on Park Rd, Crouch End have consistently good reports on HoL (and I've used them too for our cats and recommend them).

I was there recently and was told that Medivet has bought out all the Zasman practices, but for the moment the same team remains at Stroud Green. Another behemoth strikes

Sad to see this. Zasman's original surgery in Priory Road was lovely and friendly back in the day, though increasingly expensive as Straw Cat's fellow moggy got older and poorlier and had to end his 9 lives there in our arms. Wonder what's happened to Mr Zasman?

Here's his Linkedin profile, but in short he sold the eight-branch practice to Medivet and is now a consultant to Lily's Kitchen petfoods.

Medivet themselves were bought by CVC Capital Partners (private equity giant) in 2021 - see

A Twitter comment reads "With the acquisition of Zasman Vets by Medivet, about 80% of vets in north London (including mine) are now owned by the same private equity company, Luxembourg-based CVC Capital Partners."

Mr and Mrs Hill treated our cats for 30 years. They were the best vets ever. I thought Mr Hill had died or retired - they were both elderly. Mrs Hill was running the surgery until she died ... last year if I remember right. They lived in a house in Muswell Hill. A great loss - she was always kind, compassionate and knowledgeable.

The practise is still going in Park Rd N8, opposite Crouch End lido. They were much cheaper than Zasman's too.

I shared a junior class with their son Peter Hill in Rhodes Avenue school. He was a very bright lad.
