It's not about defending the right to drive though is it? It's about protesting against anti democratic imposition of a failed experiment.

Indeed, it is just coincidence that the thing they've chosen to protest about is the right to drive where they want, how they want.

Obviously in this context anti-democratic means something I disagree with. Not, something that was put into place by a council that had a mandate after an election victory where LTNs were part of their campaign
