Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Broadwater Farm Community Centre Repair Café
Tuesday 1:30-4:30pm
"I have an old Swan Teasmade which my parents had for years and I inherited. It has only recently stopped working and I hope it can be repaired"
If this sounds straightforward and interests you, you're who we're looking for to help a neighbour reduce landfill...
People are also bringing in:
1) A Samsung LCD TV
2) Kenwood mixer. The Kenwood mixer made a pop, some smoke came out and stopped working. We put it in the cupboard for 2 years and tried again and it miraculously worked for a short spell but now no longer turns on. It's from the 1970's, black and white.
3) I have a food processor with a burnt out motor
4) 4 slice toaster. One side doesn't work. 3 years old.
5) Bass guitar. The input isn't working well.
Others have asked us to help them with the repair of:
a) A Sony CD Player
b) would it be possible to come along and bring clothes so you can help me get started with repairing/altering them please? i have beginner level sewing skills. thank you so much!
c) fixing the brakes and if possible replacing the grip material in the handle bars for two kids bicycles
d) A polaroid-like camera ( Fuji Instax mini 8 ) it's working but not registering the new film and not letting me take pictures [here's a vid of someone fixing one https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=K6KQO_aEnZQ]
If you can come to help, to observe or just to hang out with us, please book the 1:30pm slot and let us know on the form. If you want help fixing something of your own, please let us know you're coming and what you want help repairing. https://repaircafebwf26jul22.eventbrite.co.uk/

What a brilliant idea

Thanks Deborah - if more 'green-minded' people would turn up to hang out with us it'd help so much - please spread the word :)

p.s. Latest addition in case anyone feels able to take it on:

Small wooden table, the dowels holding the top on to the frame have broken, hope they could be picked out and new ones glued in.

More help needed tomorrow from 1:30pm - could you turn up and lend a hand? We don't promise to fix things, only to use our best efforts and can usually help. Here are some late additions to tomorrow's list:

2 wooden foldable garden chairs with screws missing - have struggled to find the correct screws to fix them with.

Small wooden table, the dowels holding the top on to the frame have broken, hope they could be picked out and new ones glued in.

If you can help, please let us know on the 1:30pm slot form: https://repaircafebwf26jul22.eventbrite.co.uk/

Sorry I'm away this week but will definitely try and help in the future and also spread the word

Thanks so much Deborah, kind of you - everything helps :)
