Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We are in the process of getting quotes to replace our UPVC windows with wooden sash. We have had a number of quotes and wondered if anyone had used Woodstock Joinery (Archway) or Muswellhill joinery?

Any feedback or recommendations would be much appreciated.

Would also be interested to hear about this. A bay of three and another to the side is a HUGE spend and I need to be careful :-)

I used Muswell Hill Joinery to get my UPVC replaced back to sash. All went well and I was happy with the result.

Hi Guy,

I had Acorn round to quote last year, they were really friendly and explained everything to me. Also reasonable quote. Muswell Hill didn't turn up when supposed to, I phoned them and eventually he came and measured up... never sent me a quote!

I didn't use either in the end as decided to get some other work done first.

Hope that helps

Cannot recommend Marek at PM Sash Windows enough. Really takes pride in his work, very efficient and responsive, plus reasonable when compared to other quotes received.

I have just used Acorn and have been really really impressed with their planning, work, care for my house and their people. Really excellent.

I looked around and got three quotes beforehand. Selected Acorn based on their people, quote, reputation and the confidence they instilled about the quality of the work and materials they use. Def the right decision.

Glad it went flawlessly for you. I wouldn't say I was disappointed overall, but many things could have gone better. Dominic who comes around to do the quote and explain the work to be done is really polite, knowledgeable and very convincing. I did notice though that the same attention to detail was not part of the work ethic of the other crew members. It's the small things like not covering the carpet in the bedroom when painting the windows or instead of washing the plaster dust off the walls, the guy was painting directly on top of the plaster dust and the white paint came out looking dirty...

Sounds like they’ve taken your feedback on board. No issues here. Floor and stairs covered with protective sheeting and lots of prep work before painting.

Ps. I’m not linked to them! Just want to make sure the record is clear re my experience as reviews here can make a real difference (good and bad) to these local businesses.
