Did you know that when you borrow a book or audiobook from a public library, the author (if registered) will get a payment for it? And not just authors as also included are audiobook narrators, illustrators and translators. It’s called the Public Lending Right.
Public Lending Right (PLR) is a legal right to payment from Department of Digital, Culture, Media and Sport funding for eligible book contributors when their books are borrowed from public libraries.
Read more about it here (including who the most popular authors are).
Public Libraries. Where the books are free but the content makers still get paid.

Big opening party on Saturday 4th
Membership of your local library is free, here's how to join
How about an early New Year's Resolution to join the library?

I think the Harringay libraries have a smaller collection than communities I have lived in in the past (though you can request they purchase certain books by speaking with the librarian!) I still love my libraries! Did not know about PLR, thanks Liz!
