Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

We decided to give up our own car in lieu of Street Car Club membership about a year ago.  Despite seeing two separate in the local Haringey magazine about how the network of cars was due to be expanded by another 43 cars (blah, blah, blah) there are still no car club bays available on the ladder.  I've e-mailed both Street Car and Haringey Council but haven't heard back with anything other than vague undertakings, none of which have materialised.  What can I/we do to up the ante?

I agree with Antoinette as longer as disablity bays are taken into account - as Hewitt already has a couple of disability bays near the passage which makes parking for residents close to this area difficult.
Since there's pay & display bays at the bottom (Green Lanes) ends of many of the ladder roads, 'negotiating' the transfer of single car spaces to become car club bays should be easy, since the pay & display are LBH controlled.
This would seem a swifter, less contentious way to speed up the introduction of car club spaces. Or am I missing something here?
At least at the top of Hewitt Road there's actually not that many properties fronting the road - because the houses on Wightman have long gardens and then there's the new river space.

So a Car Club space at the top of the road doesn't directly impact on any existing resident parking - whereas one lower down would.

I love the idea of more car club spaces, but I also want a place to park my car - and thus no less resident's parking.
I think there would be understandable opposition from businesses on Green Lanes to reducing the number of already over-subscribed pay and display bays as they already argue that their customers must have somewhere to park in order for them to maintain their revenue streams etc., and that the Council is deliberately looking to utilise the sections of road which are not directly outside people's homes (such as the new proposed space on Cavendish Rd). But I would still argue that for the greater good, a single car space near the passage would be much more accessible and would not have a significant impact on the available space for residents permit holders.
People who actually live on Hewitt Road around the passage would be inconvenienced on a daily basis by a reduction in parking spaces if the car club car was located there. There are times when it is nigh-on impossible to find a free, non-disabled space on the lower stretch of Hewitt. I think the situation is exacerbated because it is a 'down' road as well as having quite a high number of disabled spaces towards the bottom and the pay and display parking. Speaking as one who lives on the road and experiences this daily, I disagree with Antoinette's impact assessment.

I also don't understand on what basis it would be 'for the greater good' to take out yet another space for the car club when it could, as the council is suggesting, quite easily be sited at the top end where there are always free spaces. People using the car club cars would only need to access the cars occasionally (wouldn't they?) so any inconvenience would also be only occasional. And, frankly, being asked to walk half the length of a ladder road on an occasional basis doesn't seem like much of an inconvenience.

Anyway, isn't one of the objectives of the car club scheme to encourage people to walk?!
