Dear HOLers
This slightly sad and unprepossessing dead tree stump is the first thing to greet people on Sydney Road from Willoughby Road and I wanted to get a few ideas on how to decorate it/make it look slightly more attractive in any way ...
I am very, very unartistic so painting beautiful patterns on it would be beyond my powers and when I last planted some pretty flowers in the tree pit outside my own house they had all been nicked before 24 hours was up so I am loath to do that either.
But every time I walk past it I think 'how can I make that look better' so if any of you have practical suggestions that I can do and that is quite vandal- and thief-proof then I will have a go...

That is a sorry sight indeed. Who has responsibility? Maybe Haringey council need to take is up and replant a sapling? If they won’t replant would residents contribute towards a sapling? I would contribute some money if I knew it would be regularly watered.
very say to see it left looking so sorry. I like the idead of the little community crochet/knitted scarf/bunting to cheer it up but the often start to look a bit sorry too after a winter season. Another saplling would be the ideal. Do you know what was the cause of the last one's demise? If water maybe something more drought tolerant. Would the council even be open to that?
