Replacing sash cords on a timber sash window ?
I was sent a couple of recommendations but have had no luck. They will only replace if they actually put in the window. Any further suggestions ?

It’s a fairly basic thing. Try a handyman. I did my own years back in my first flat.

Dermot recently replaced a number of cords and numerous panes of glass on my sash windows. He also freed a number of windows which were stuck. Found his information on here and I highly recommend him.

You could try Acorn Sash Windows, a local company. They replaced sash cords in our kitchen window (they also repaired one sash and did some basic insulation). They are not necessarily the cheapest, but they do a very good job, and are very careful and tidy. We need work done on two big sash windows in our living room, and we would definitely be happy to use them again.
