Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

This charming chap just assaulted me and threatened to "kick my f*$£ing head in" in front of my four year old son on Wightman Road. Photo attached - he's the guy with the green hoodie and the headphones, not the postie! We stopped - single file - hard up against the rubbish bins on the pavement (left hand side) to let him pass, but he still had to slow down to pass us, which obviously set him off. I don't know what he wanted or expected us to do - presumably to jump into the road. Best to keep clear of him I think, and if anyone knows him (his photo is attached, green hoodie, blue hat, black long shorts and headphones; he also had an irish accent) ask him to have a word with himself because when he ran back and pushed me he made my son fall over. I suspect he knew he had overstepped the mark because he then ran off. Only managed to get a picture of him from behind.

Ahh, the bi-pedal species known as Joggerus Self-rightiousus, a close relative of the two wheeled Cyclitus Self-rightiousus from the same genus.

Characteristics/behaviour:

i) think their actions take priority over anyone else

ii) aggressive when impeded

In all seriousness, I'm sorry you went through this (and your child). This behaviour is totally unacceptable, so please everyone let's all maintain respect for our fellow citizens in these trying times - AND THAT INCLUDES FACEMASKS (sorry for the shouting but the covid numbers are going stratospheric in London)

Yes, I was wearing a mask. No surprise he wasn't, and he was much closer than 2m when he ran back to push me!

Good for you that your actions were beyond reproach and a valuable lesson for your son on how decent people go about their business

Just wanted to say sorry you had this experience. I know exactly what it's like to have to contextualise something like this to a young child...

Thanks. He's alright now, but was quite shaken at the time and had many questions: "that man wanted to hurt you", "did he want to hurt me?" etc. It's generally a weird time to be a kid at the moment, and this didn't help!

Sad  Malc that you and your Son had to be subjected to such a foul incident.  Thanks for sharing this

That is assault and you should report it to the police, that is disgusting behaviour from someone especially when you had your child with you! Can only see back of him of course, so can’t help much in saying I recognise him.

Takes some believing eh !   Scum.
