Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Originally this post was a notice about the weekly planning applications update. However, since it's turned into something more substantial, I've moved that notice elsewhere and am making way for this discussion to focus on a planning issue on Lothair Road.

Thanks for the sensitivity Steve, but do go ahead and post the link.
Ok, thanks Hugh... please filter the advertising bits and name etc... I have a duty to present this internally poor house in it's best light!

This short virtual tour video shows the wall coverings coming away from the walls, the dividing doors are virtually hanging off, the kitchen units have several doors missing or hanging off the hinges, the carpets were so disgusting they had to be removed. The list goes on.

Yes the owners had pretty good rent coming in, but there is no way a housing association or Haringey council would take a property on in this state, so why give them back like it. I see this all the time!

The size and location is what we are hoping will attract a family, or anyone wanting to put down roots in Harringay. Whoever buys it will need the energy and financial resources to turn this back into a family type home. I am showing them this video of a house in the very same road to highlight what can be achieved.

This is a very typical situation, and the sad thing is that many of these lovely old houses nearly always get sold to investors. So here we are doing our best to highlight the possibilities to families Etc. but also being careful not to discriminate and rule out landlords as there are plenty of professional and responsible ones out there too!

At the risk of stating the blindingly obvious! This is why I feel Estate Agents have a very important role to play in helping to shape or improve an area... fancy advertising is not enough, it also requires a responsible and conscientious approach. Hence my involvement on HOL. It is important for business to understand the community, and to a greater or lessor degree for the community to understand and communicate with businesses.
