Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Is there anyone else here who works from home and would like to escape the house occasionally for lunch?

I'm thinking of a regular "Home workers networking lunch" (so it feels a bit like real work and not just sloping off to the pub) say once a fortnight or so, at some suitable local venue.

If there's interest then I'll sort out a time and place for the first one.

UPDATE:

Since there's evident interest, I've suggested a first lunch for November 30th - details here: http://www.harringayonline.com/events/harringay-homeworkers-lunch

UPDATE 2: I must need to get out of the house more often - the Garden Ladder no longer opens for lunch. Venue suggestions welcome!

UPDATE 3: Thanks for the venue suggestions, I've booked a table at Cafe Mezzo (see the event listing for details). Looking forward to meeting you all on Monday

good, but may not be able to make it next Monday. If not, another time.
Hi Malcolm!

VERY interested! I work from home. I will be doing one day a week volunteering in 2010. But would love to join in on lunch every so often with fellow work from home people.

Cannot make the first one but am keen to attend early next year.

thanks
Mel
If it's on a Monday then that rules me out.
Malcolm

That's a great idea.
You can feel a bit isolated working from home and it's always great to do a bit of networking.
Not sure if I can make the first one on the 30th as I have a morning appointment, but please keep me posted.

hi again
seems to be a lot of support! I know its not easy finding a date/day that everyone can make. Perhaps that could be flexibility about the day, not always a Monday. if we could be spontaneous sometimes, which to me is the joy of working at home.
I agree - flexibility and spontaneity are both good things.

Hopefully this will evolve into a regular thing and we can switch days around - and we will also all know a few local people to email at 11:30 to suggest lunch that day!
As a freelance journalist I'd also been keen to partake in a bit of lunchtime networking. But typically, am unable to make the first on Nov 30. look forward to seeing details of next one.
Proposal for the second date of 18th December - see here http://www.harringayonline.com/events/harringay-homeworkers-lunch-2

Hopefully this will work for some of the people who can't make the first one.
This clashes with:
Fri 18th Dec: 1pm-3pm
Food, glorious food! A mid-winter celebration of food growing and delicious home cooking in Haringey
@ the Community Cafe, Broadwater Centre, 1 Adams Rd, N17

Why don't you join us?
I've booked a table at Cafe Mezzo for 1pm on Monday 30th - look forward to seeing you all there.
Where is Cafe Mezzo? I had noted Garden Ladder
Sadly the Garden Ladder isn't open at lunch

Cafe Mezzo is on the Grand Parade midway down the Harringay section of Green Lanes.
