Hi Harringay onliners
The Burgoyne Road group have been great at collecting food for local food banks during this concerning time. I dropped some stuff off today at Tottenham town hall but there wasn’t much there which was upsetting. Im wondering if other street groups are doing this too? We have a great system in place where we deliver every Thursday. If you live on Umfreville or Cavendish or even further afield Please consider joining in the effort if you’re not already! You can drop food off at no. 16, no, 65 or no. 10 Burgoyne and we will collate and deliver. Thank You.
Forwarding a message from Hugo Grubb of Tottenham Food Bank...
Hello again! For those of you who haven't seen my previous post on 24 March (now amended), I'm the volunteer warehouse manager at Tottenham Foodbank which, despite comments I've seen in this group, remains open for "business".
Thanks very much to all those who have donated so far. We've had an amazing response but alas we're short of other items now.
Although restrictions have been relaxed, they're still problematic for bulk buying so it'd be greatly appreciated if any donations of the following (listed according to need)...
1) UHT milk (1 litre; full fat or semi skimmed preferred)
2) tinned rice pudding / custard
3) UHT fruit juice (1 litre cartons)
4) tinned meat (anything but corned beef preferred)
5) tea (sachets of 40 preferred to large boxes/bags)
6) toothpaste
7) tinned fruit
8) tinned pasta
9) tinned soup
10) shower gel
11) chocolate / sweets
12) sauces (ketchup / brown / mayo NOT pasta sauces)
...could be brought to the foodbank (Tottenham town hall, N15 4RY - top left buzzer), 11am-12noon on Mondays and 4-5pm on Thursdays. Please don't arrive with donations during the foodbank sessions. (I'm happy to pick up if there's a lot collected in one place.)
If you can't make it to the foodbank then you can still make a donation of £3, £5, £10, or £20 straight to the foodbank by texting TOTTENHAM 3, TOTTENHAM 5, TOTTENHAM 10, or TOTTENHAM 20 to 70085 - allowing us to purchase the items we most urgently need.
Or our Justgiving site is: https://www.justgiving.com/crowdfunding/tottenham-foodbank
Thanks very much in advance. Best wishes to you all.

Hello Rachel and others,
We at the Gospel Centre food bank have been the grateful beneficiary of Burgoyne Road and other neighborhood collections. As mentioned elsewhere on harringayonline we continue to serve a growing number of people, many of them local to where we are based ( N8 0LT). We currently are in particular need of UHT Milk, sugar, tinned meat, rice pudding, chocolate or cake and rice pudding. Donations can be delivered when we are open for clients or by phoning the church office on 020 83747708 weekdays 9am-1pm except Tuesday or emailing gospelcfoodbank@gmail.com
Of course in this time of need there are many other providers of food and other provisions and each has their role. I encourage people to use Tottenham food bank , especially when they live in the east of the borough. I have though picked up from a notice at Tottenham food bank that from the 27th April that they are doing home deliveries only. Whilst I could guess at the reason , perhaps, someone would explain the reason.
Hi Dexter,
I dropped off at The Gospel Centre this morning actually!
Met a lovely lady called Trish :)
Yep we on Burgoyne Rd are collecting weekly and I will drop off on Friday mornings to you as it's our local food bank and frankly easier to park than Tottenham!
A BIG THANKS to everyone who donated - Please keep the support up - anyone is welcome to drop off at No. 65 or No. 16 Burgoyne Rd.
Hi Rachael, so your street is doing this every week? Are you still getting a large number of donations? We just had a great collection on our street for Gospel Centre, after another one last month, but maybe we should be doing it more often.
Hi Lina
Yes weekly :)
Please carry on donating, we can always do with more stuff!
Thanks so much.
