Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I can't spot a definitive answer to this online. Are HMO applications shown on the planning website along with other planning applications or are they somewhere else?

Thanks,

Hi, yes and no. Change of use planning applications for new HMOs - i.e. a planning app to request consent to turn a house into a HMO - would appear on the planning register. However planning permission is only required in the east of the borough where it has been restricted, otherwise it can be done without planning consent subject to certain rules.

Applications for a HMO licence once you have consent if required are another thing. The licence applications are not public I don't think, but the approved ones are. Haringey have a website you can search by address to check if a house is licensed as a HMO.

Thanks. Looking into this a bit more deeply based on your answer it does appear that the property I was wondering about is in the protected zone and so they would need planning permission.

Saying that, the criteria in the area plan doesn't seem overly strict so I'm not sure how many would get refused.
