I hope that people will be more willing in voting Conservative in the next election locally here, especially as nationally we are being seen as the only party to help the country get back on its feet.

My philosophy were I to be a Councillor for this Ward would be to represent to the best of my abilities. A mixture of priniciples and conscience would guide me. Being in my twenties, I would hope younger voters would be interested to hear my views. My impression is that a lot of young people here don't feel part of the democratic process.
Tim, never forget that William Hague was once 16 with a full head of hair. Tory youth is wasted on the young. Get a baseball cap and wear it right way round.
That's no way to talk about our future Foreign Secretary! ;-)
Vote anarchist don't!
It reminds me a beautiful anarchist graffiti, some years ago near Finsbury Park: "Don't vote. It only encourages them"!!
As for Gina, I suspect the reason few people "know" about her "philosophy etc" is because she is a simple "salt of the earth" soul, who genuinely cares about people and her neighbourhood, head down and hard work; too modest to have a "blog" and wouldn't know what spin is if it hit her on the head - but she suffers from the fact that in our macho political culture modesty is seen as a weakness and caring as a handicap.
Good grief! A number of ways to interpret this post. Personally, I like Gina and Isidoros.
I'm told that the Liberal Democrats will announce their candidates early 2010 after a selection meeting.
I would imagine they will be the same people they stood it 2006. "Focus Editor" means candidate.
