Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

I would like to share my experience with Jamol, should you be considering him for a job.

Jamol had agreed to do a job and requested equipment to hire and materials to buy (the most expensive), and all to be in time for him to do the work.

However, he cancelled right on the day and at the time he was supposed to arrive to start the job with no explanation. He did not seek to rearrange or offer compensation for the loss for hires and materials that cannot be refunded (about £180). Very disappointing.

He appeared on first impression to be reliable but I have learnt to my great cost he is not. Please bear this in mind if you are thinking of him for a job.

On the contrary I have had Jamol doing work on and off over a four year period and he has been so accommodating, trustworthy, extremely hard working and reasonable.

There will no doubt be two sides to every story.

No doubt. That is your experience. Sadly my experience has been very different.

I am sure you would agree that

  • cancelling a job he had committed to via text at the last minute,
  • giving no explanation,
  • without offering any other option to remedy the situation in some way, and
  • knowing he had asked for equipment (hired) and very expensive materials (purchased) for the job, causing a significant loss of money for me.

is not the most reasonable or responsible of behaviours. I had no inkling whatsoever, nor was there any situation in the lead to the date, absolutely nothing to indicate that he may not come and leave me hanged out to dry.

Has he changed? He has most certainly not behaved as you described. Now, anyone considering Jamol could make a judgement for themselves.
