Two weekends of noise, disruption, antisocial behaviour & loss of half the park for four weeks when the park should be available for the people who live round and close by. No one to blame but the Haringey Councillors who agreed to this. If you experience problems and keep ringing their complaints line 020 8396 7701 - if people don’t log concerns the council will claim there is no problem.

Issue is many might be upset. But how many are willing to Change Councillors
As current Councillors seem Willing to keep allowing Events that reduce the Park to Local Rate Payers Use instead of Commercial users
I wonder who pays for the Police Helicopter Flying around for Long Periods
That helicopter flies everywhere! It’s hardly unique to wireless
The next Council election is not all that far off and this should certainly be one of the issues for wards closest to the park - particularly when the lead councillor for Haringey Parks is a Stroud Green Councillor.
Well my experience of wireless has been very positive
i got a very informative flier through the letter box
i emailed them rather than called them as that’s what they advised
they took the time to reply to my request to keep the track between Finsbury Park and Manor House open as much as possible ( outside of the festival walls) great for us who run in the park regularly. And they mostly have.
i must be missing something because I don’t understand why people who don’t like it, don’t arrange to go away for the weekend. I mean what a great excuse to go camping or see those friends/ family you have been putting off
I mean it happens every year, we get loads notice. It’s 3 days of noise. Yes a bit of upheaval but really in the bigger scale of things, when it brings so much joy to so many thousands of young people. We will all be dead before we know it and I hope I’m remembered for being open minded and supportive of life
and big music events In Finsbury Park have been going on since early 80s when I moved into the area
I agree Wireless promoters have carried out a much better communication exercise this year with leaflets and an information line but for me none of this takes away from the fact that the park is not suitable for an event of this size and impact. Most of us can’t go away and why should we. Events certainly have taken place in the park before but not so big and not taking up so much space and for so long. Our Councillors are ultimately to blame because they have the power to agree or refuse these events. Before this mega event a much smaller area was taken up and much less fencing if any was erected - taking only a few days. If the Council want raise some income from the park there are many other things they can do - things that are more in tune with an open green space - but it will require imagination and the ability to deliver. Its not closed minded to want something better and with less negative impact in my view.
Entrance fee????, it could be used to keep out those who have less control over thier livestock, prevent the perminant camp (in the part of the park I use, don't understand why more people haven't complained. Might have been different if it had been a caravan) and could be free to all two days a week to allow for general grazing.
Win win.
Some people on here have stated they receive notice of the event. I'm at the top of Allison Rd and the noise pollution is unbearable. I have never received any communication from Wireless. My only recourse is the internet to find out who to complain to once it starts. Takes me by surprise every year.
I loathe the thing. For those who enjoy/defend it, perhaps if I rocked up at your house and pumped The Archers theme tune on full volume with a cranked up bass line on a loop for two days might understand that imposing your taste of music on other people in a built up area is out of order. Not to mention the wildlife it destroys in one of our essential London lungs.
