If anyone is considering a donation to a food bank this week, I had a chat this weekend with one of the people who help run the Holy Trinity Food Bank in Stroud Green about what is needed.
They have plenty of staples such as pasta and even a lot of Christmas treats but it's the household basics they could do with like washing up liquid and other cleaning products, toilet paper, toiletries and sanitary towels.
If you are donating tins, it would be helpful to try and give ones that have a ring pull, and also things that can be eaten cold as people sometimes don't have the means to heat things. Jars of sauces like pesto that can be put straight onto hot pasta are also useful.
Donations are collected at Stroud Green and Harringay Library just over the bridge at Harringay station in Quernmore Road.
If you know anyone who is in urgent need of food and living basics, there are a number of agencies that will issue vouchers. You can contact Haringey Foodbank here or if needed asap you can phone them on 07460 519019
