Terrible! Saw them zooming up Falkland Rd a little while ago.

This from HoL member Penguin:

around 5:45 tonight outside The Salisbury

Armed police were chasing a blue Audi and it hit a pedestrian outside the pub

and then sped off without even checking the person.

Thankfully the man is alive but injured.

All part and parcel of living in a big city i suppose but still shocking that there is this type of vermin in our area.

Why would it be related to that? Unless you mean they could have been chasing the person who did it?

Otherwise, that article which i read a few days ago is separate, a man was shot in the cemetery and police attended.

Doesn’t quite make sense. Vehicle must have been heading down St Annes from Green Lanes as the traffic light was pointing down St Anne’s Road. So to get onto Green Lanes it must have gone right down Salisbury Road or else up Harringay Road and around. Also said that it went down Green Lanes yet someone saw it going up Falkland so must have gone up Green Lanes instead.

I witnessed it.

He was being chased by armed police so I think the one way system may not have been the first thing on his mind!

He turned into St Anne’s- took out the post and the pedestrian then reversed back and headed south down green lanes via the pavement outside the Salisbury

I was nearly hit in a police chase once. I was crossing Euston Road and a car came screeching around the corner into Pancras Road and lost control. Came very close to hitting me but the driver regained control and sped up. I was really shaken up.

I think police need to be more careful in these sorts of chases. They put pedestrians at too much risk. I actually wish I had complained.

It's not the police who put pedestrians at risk: it's the criminals.

Police do have rules on how they should conduct chases. I don't think they should have conducted a high speed pursuit pursuit in the middle of the day, in the middle of London when the chance of harm to pedestrians was very high. They have other ways - helicopters, ANPR etc.

This case really hit me: https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/amp/uk-england-london-37234416

I agree with you Sarah and John BUT much more with Sarah. xG

"The police watchdog says there were 13 deaths in the UK in 2015/16 - during or after police chases - up from six the previous year.

In London in 2015/16 there were three deaths, up from one the previous year."

BUT CYCLISTS!!!!!!
