Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
Paramount Indian Restaurant Wood Green
Does anyone know why it has closed? It seems they left in a hurry as a note in the window (from who?) says there is food left in the fridge, bottles of beer etc left in the premises along with tables and chairs and a fish in the pond! I have been going there for 17 years and then one night a couple of months back it was closed without warning. Just wondered if anyone knows the story. And also, what is the best alternative Indian in the local area?

it is very strange - even if they did not seem quite so enthusiastic about the place in the past year, but just to shut one day and leave everything? anyway, thanks for the recommendation, Jashan looks good :)

Thanks for the recommendation. When I moved to Wood Green back in 2001 my Indian neighbours recommended the Paramount and I have never been to any other curry house in the locality so it feels like a real end of an era. I hope they are all ok - seems really odd they would just shut up and leave everything. So it is a great shame but time to move on and find some new places.

I saw today someone leaving the restaurant and told me that they are doing a big refub (it looked like it) and will re-open in 3 weeks. That's good news!
