Sorry to hear this Antoinette, hope your son and his dad are ok. Wightman Road drivers must have been particularly bad this morning as I myself was clipped by a car trying to get past me through a traffic island.
Without getting into any discussion on how best to deal with Wightman Road (which I appreciate we disagree on) I hope we can both have some common ground in that it is unbelievably dangerous particularly for cyclists and motor cycles and something has to be done to address this before someone is seriously hurt.
Actually it was a cyclist careering through the red lights at speed which was a contributory factor to the accident, so I think you're right, I don't think I do want to get into that discussion as it is not just drivers who are culpable in that respect. In fact, I would very much like to hear from that cyclist as they knew they had caused an accident and didn't stop. That would be illegal for a car or motorcycle.
I'm not clear how a cyclist caused a car to crash into a motorcycle.
And I am sure as **** not going to engage with you on this topic. It happened. My son's life was endangered as a direct result of illegal and dangerous cycling.
This is clearly very upsetting - but that is quite a serious accusation to make. It probably is worth explaining the cyclist's involvement.
Thanks Priya. Freddy was absolutely fine and is taking it in his stride. In fact you better warn Tula that she'll have to hear the whole story in excruciating detail when they all get back to school. Dad is a bit battered and bruised but basically in one piece.
I am now going to close this discussion because I am not prepared to listen to all the BS about cars vs cyclists. I am too angry and upset about the actual and real damage done to my family members; physical and emotional. Take your petty squabbles and bickering elsewhere. If anyone does have any information about the incident they can contact me by personal message.
