Fairground Collective eye closed Hornsey Public Baths as a community design centre for education

Came across this via the mighty Twitter. Worth keeping an eye on?

The Hornsey Public Baths site has been vacant for a number of years, and looks likely to be vacant at least for another 1-1.5 years as the proposed Sainsburys development goes through the planning process.

Can we open it to everyone in Haringey as a community design centre for education and the environment?  I’m looking to gather interest, publicity and local motivation to see if we can transform the site to provide workshops and studio space, support access to tools and skills for local resilience, and host performance and media events, open to all.

I live directly opposite the building, have just come to the end of an MA in Architecture, and am looking to initiate Fairground Collective, an ambitious project that will provide ethical community access to educational space for creativity and social innovation.  This site seemed the perfect place to start. I’d love to meet with anyone who is interested in the site, knows any of the history, or is inspired by the vision for its occupation.
