Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

The new Arthouse venue planned for Crouch End (Colouring is (thankfully) down to me - expect something more tasteful for the real thing!)

Local theatre director Sam Neophytou is planning to convert The Music Palace bar in Tottenham Lane into the 'Arthouse' cinema and theatre.

The plans include a 90-seater cinema, a 90-seater theatre and a café-bar.

The cinema will operate as an independent Curzon franchise showing classic Curzon fayre.

Full plans available on Haringey Council's website.

Oh, that's a shame. I heard it was going to be an exotic dancing bar....

great stuff! as long as they dont turn it into a multiplex. wood green and turnpike lane apparently used to be a mecca for theatres and cinemas - what happened ?! oh yes they were converted into much more socially useful banks and chain stores.

Is this the place where they hold the Boom Tish comedy nights...?  As positive as I might have been in principle to a Curzonesque creation in Crouch End, I kinda like it the way it is......

That's the place.

Sounds really good - was this the place that was planned as a pole dancing venue a while back?  Will there be room for the Park Theatre, the new Arts Venue at John Jones, the theatre at Hornsey Town Hall and this?  I hope so.  I will never have to travel into central London ever again!

Here's a press release on the Curzon website.
