Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Before Disney's there was............

........Hughes Bros.

For the first 12 years of Grand Parade's life Hughes Bros "Temple of Fashion" graced 34 - 36 Grand Parade.

Thanks to Andy Stone whose gift of a bundle of early 20th century newspapers made this posting possible. This clipping was from the Hornsey Journal on 12 December 1903.

Silks and cashmere - lovely.  The clothes now seems to be pretty much synthetic with the odd bit of cotten thrown in
