You live on the ‘Ladder’, you are concerned about anti-social behaviour, rubbish, houses in multiple occupation (HMOs), dog mess, Harringay Passage .... So are we. The LCSP (The Ladder Community Safety Parnership) is an organisation of local people, set up over 7 years ago, which aims to represent the interests and concerns of all of the 19 ‘Ladder’ roads, along with Wightman Rd and Green Lanes. The rather cumbersome name reflects its origin as part of a national initiative to reduce burglaries and robberies, but as you see our focus has broadened since then!
We think that the ‘Ladder’ really is changing for the better. New and improved street lighting, the removal of unsightly and smelly commercial rubbish from Green Lanes, twice daily collection of traders’ rubbish, more trees and hanging baskets, a major effort to freshen up Harringay Passage, opposing undesirable planning and licensing applications: these are just
some of the issues and successes with which we have been involved over the past few years.
However there is still plenty more to be done, working together with other residents, traders, the local Safer Neighbourhood Team (Met.Police) and of course Haringey Council. If you are interested, come and join us - and actually meet other local residents! The LCSP meets on the second Thursday of every month (except August) at 7.30pm in St Paul’s Church Hall, at the corner of Cavendish and Wightman Roads. In addition you can also email us at lcsp@blueyonder.co.uk
