Oh I don't know, I think you can still be who you want to be on here. On the whole I think everyone's opinions are meant in a good natured way and it just goes to show how passionate people are about Harringay which is definitely a good thing
Hi John,
Stephen Moore here, news editor of the Hornsey Journal. I was wondering if you would let us reproduce the photo you took of the small fire at the bottom of Lausanne Road on Monday morning?
We can't offer you any money for it, but would be happy to credit you as the owner/photographer if you wanted us to.
Do let me know either way at stephen.moore@archant.co.uk.
Many thanks,
Stephen
Hi John,
Thanks very much. If you could forward copies of both pics to that archant email address I would be grateful. I can't tell what size you've got them at in digital form, but if they are jpegs and more than 500k in size, I am sure they will be fine.
It would be handy if I could talk to you over the phone for a couple of 'eyewitness' quotes - if you email me direct then please do include a number I can get hold of you on.
Best wishes, Stephen
OOh hello John D, thank you very much for your reply to my ladder enquiry. I am at the top of Burgoyne Road - is that near you. I am sorry that I cannot come to collect the ladder as I have MS and no longer drive. If the ladder is appropriate and all is agreed for the loan, is it any good for me to arrange a taxi to collect it from you? By the way the ladder will be used by my husband for carrying out the actual curtain change job. BW Geraldine
Firefox has been giving me trouble recently with a number of my applications. Are you using FF. If so, have you tried another browser? JUst now when I was adding a reply, none of the format buttons appeared in FF but all ok in Safari.

Thanks, John. That's good advice; one should be careful. On Sunday evening I was making a short speech to about sixty of the Finnegan-Morgan-Morris-Maguire Family Gathering in an Armagh hotel. I'd been organising this since last November, so that's why my brother Barney called on me for a few words. All going well until I just couldn't recall one of my Maguire first cousins' husband's name. "Ah, there's my old friend Al Zheimer knocking at my door again," sez I. Most people laughed. Only later did I see old Francie Mohan, married to a close Morgan first cousin, walking obsessively to and fro among the tables, making his way to the buffet over and over again just to laugh quietly to himself. Afterwards, Carmel told me he'd been diagnosed with Alzheimer's a year ago. So, not such a funny quip after all!
No, but Frank Dickens went to my school some years before me (Stationers) and Colin Chapman also. My Stepbrother, John Pullen, was in the same class as Colin. They became best friends for two reasons: their parents were pub landlords (the Railway and The Hope and Anchor), and they both had a fanatical interest in all things automotive. In fact Colin asked John to join him in his opening venture of repairing motorbikes ( which obviously blossomed into greater things), but John preferred a more institutional career and joined. Taylor Woodrow. His Only claim to fame thereafter was that he won the prize for a new firm 's logo. It was used ever since (the four men pulling together on a tug of war). Hope this is of interest?
