Damp investigation & repair

Hi, has anybody undertaken any work or had quotes recently for issues to do with damp for a ground floor flat?  I've seen posts where people recommend getting a survey and forewarning that will lead to work by the same people, because it always does!  I'm fine with that, but it would be good to know if anyone had any good experiences/recommendations.  Thanks.
