Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Has a cure for male pattern baldness been found on Harringay high street?

It looks like another, yes another, barbers is going into the empty shop next to the Maqsoud newsagents?

I might be wrong but there are several water connections visible along one wall. Presumably they are for sinks. What else could it be?

I can only assume a cure for baldness has been found for what else would drive the demand for yet another barbers?

Of course I wish them every success and welcome the extra VAT which will surely find its way to HMRC coffers.

Spoke with one of the builders and i can unfortunately confirm it’s another barbers.

Boring, was hoping for a french bakery 😅

Up until 2014, 505 Green Lanes used to bear a sign above the shop which read "Yasar Foods Ltd". Records suggest that the name is associated with Yasar Halim. I'd always assumed that the company once ran the premises as a shop and later kept it on for storage.

The eponymous owner opened his first UK business in 1987 in the same Harringay premises from which the still trades today. By all accounts his various businesses did very well. According to publicly available company director records, after Mr Halims's death in January 2020, companies associated with him had £6,822,371 in shareholder value and £2,275,439 in cash. So, I assume that the cost of keeping the 505 Green Lanes for storage was well validated by the financial health of the Yasar Halim family of companies.
