Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

At a recent event where we all turned up in the snow(yes David Lammy) I was shown a map of which roads are covered by the Gardens Resident Association/group/whatever its called. I was looking at the leaflet and then when I said I lived on Harringay Gardens - outside the boundary of the Gardens map, well to my surprise the leaflet was removed from my hand and I was told Harringay Gardens did not qualify. We are to be isolated, shunted out in the cold, we don't qualify, even though we are in the Harringay town area and our road is called Harringay GARDENS.

This is terrible - who made these rules? And the maps that are shown of this area often have our road shown (as it is small and a cul-de-sac) as no name/blank/who cares/dismiss. On every count then we are to be isolated, kept on the fringes, ignored, rejected......what is going on...?

Before I commit hari-kari with my useless life, before the final 'delete' button is pressed, someone tell me - where does Harringay Gardens belong...????

No Harringay gdns has always been N8 - its N15 who are the attempted invaders -but we in N8 repel all boarders! Anyway I thought N15 was Stoke Newington - get back where you belong....Stokie (but seriously) as for getting out much ... well I have searched that dirt track with all the fly tipped rubbish (is that what you call a mews?) twice this week for a neighbours missing cat...if you see it , its black and old and epileptic and has now been missing for a week...answers to Pele
Stoke Newington is N16. I don't call it a Mews; the borough does. Careful down there there are needles lying around sometimes. I'll keep an eye out for that cat. Maybe you should start a community group for non aligned areas.
Well back to the beginning of this discussion - the suggestion that we should call it an independent republic - want to bring in the Mews? who will govern the new republic though? As a republic, the leaders should be democratically elected, n'est-ce pas? So... there would need to be hustings, candidates, profiles, leafletting campaigns, door to door campaigning (should take oooh ...half an hour, unless invited in for a cuppa!), PR, election officers, a secret ballot.... god I'm exhausted thinking about it...
