Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Has anyone had any experiences with the Just Swim swim school, especially the lessons that run at the Campsbourne school pool?

https://www.justswim.org.uk

We are currently doing lessons at South Harringay but the pool there - though lovely for younger children - is a bit small for older kids once they get up to doing lengths.

I know a lot of people around here go to the Park Rd leisure centre, but whenever I have been in to enquire they are massively disorganised, plus friends whose children go there are ambivalent about the quality of the instruction, and the lack of guidance on stroke technique.

Just Swim has been recommended a few times on this site but those posts were a little while ago, so I'd be interested to hear from anyone whose children attend it now. I'd also be grateful to know how big the pool is, and whether the kids get to use the whole pool in their lessons or whether they fence off different sections for different groups.

Thanks!

I can definitely vouch for the quality of the lessons - my son has improved dramatically since starting at Just Swim  Campsbourne. However if you're looking for a bigger pool you'll need to look elsewhere - the pool there shares more of a resemblance to an oversized bathtub!

I can vouch for them. Both my kids learnt to swim beautifully with Just Swim. They teach at a few different pools in Harringay, some are bigger than others.

Thanks, Thandi and Grant, for your replies. That's helpful (though disappointing) to know the pool is small at Campsbourne. If anyone has lessons at a larger pool with them, I'd be grateful to hear about it.

My 2 did just swim at South Haringay pool from the age of 5 my youngest and 8 my eldest they did it for a good 2 years. The only place they have ever had lessons and been completely happy and confident I can't speak highly enough of them. We did a crash course in the summer last year at campsbourne and it is literally a pop up pool its tiny and really only suitable for anyone over about 8 it was ok for them for he week but not for every week
Good luck
That was meant to say only suitable for under 8 not over
I'm watching with interest! Interested to hear about Park Road and other local lessons too.q

I learnt as an adult to swim at Park Road. I did a nervous beginners for 6wk, followed by beginners (6 wks), followed by intermediate (6wks). Now i'm doing the next level, when i pluck up the courage. I found them really good. I now have daughter 18month's and looking to start her in swimming lessons as well and would take her to Park Road based on my satisfaction with my progress.

The early years classes at Park Road are great - the trainer Stephanie is brilliant. I have however had serious problems with the booking system there, not only repeatedly being booked on classes on the wrong days and times, but then having to deal with some extremely rude and unprofessional staff on the front desk when trying to get it sorted out.

I have heard very similar things about Park Rd: they seem massively disorganised, and I have been told different things every time I go there.

When you say the 'early years classes' - up to what level, or rough age group, is that?

Pre-schoolers. My youngest is in the 2-4(?) age group class.
