Would you like to give your opinions on local Mental Health Services?

Barnet, Enfield and Haringey Mental Health Trust are reviewing the way they deliver mental health care for adults living in Haringey.

This may change where and how service users receive their care. Haringey Association for Independent Living (HAIL) and Public Voice are working with BEH-MHT to organise a consultation event.

This event is an opportunity for you to hear more about the proposed plans and let us know what you think. This event is open to all residents of Haringey-including current and past service users and carers as well as Professionals.

We are holding it on Friday the 24th February 2017. Lunch will be at 12.30pm and presentation plus workshops from 1-3.30pm

It will be held at the Chestnuts Community Centre, 280 St Anns’ Road, London N15 5AZ

Your views are important. Please can you let others know about this event.

To find out more information and to let us know if you able to come , please drop us an email at admin@hailltd.org quoting "Pathway Event" or phone HAIL on 07525 260776 or Public Voice on 0208 888 0579.

Many thanks

sorry but what mental health service, services have continued to close over the last few years, to virtually nil, rubbish, too depressing to go

I work and so cannot attend, but between the lack of community provisions and the abhorrent standard of care on the inpatient units I wouldn't even know where to start with the state of BEH. A staff member pushed a patient to the floor and was allowed back to work - but it's ok, on a different ward. The crisis team/CMHT think it's ok to not bother to turn up to a patient's house because they can't be bothered or are pushed for time. They also think it's acceptable to tell someone "Why are you depressed, you have cats and a nice flat!" The whole trust needs dismantling and rebuilding with people who are actually capable of caring and displaying empathy.

Hi Cat,

Im sorry that someone you care for has had to experience and I understand your fustration. I would encourage the individual to make a written complaint to the BEH Trust Patient Experience Department or the Chief Executive. It is only with written testimonies that can assist with bringing the appropriate disciplinary actions to bear on the staff involved. Unfortunately all to often in Mental Health not enough individuals receive the information and support to be able to make formal complaints.

Lastly Im an individual from the BME community who has used mental health services not just in Haringey but in other parts of London. I work as a Mental Health Campaigner I strongly feel that despite being the "cinderella" of the NHS , we need to continue to demand the best quality of treatment and promote the fact that Service User voices need to be heard and listened to.

Regards
