You obviously know how to get things done, Karen. There were workmen preparing to fill it as I went past at 8.30 this morning.
(That wasn't your wheel trim lying by the side of the road was it?)
Saw this yesterday as I swerved around it. Apparently it costs on average £72 to fill a pothole!
There have been so many continuous cracks in the WR surface from Burgoyne to Effingham over several years that they are bound to open up into potholes and crevices as a result of our recent "frost and snow event". How long will our road and pavements remain unsurfaced and unreconstructed? Throwing a few shovels of tarmac into individual potholes at £72 a scud is precisely the sort of patching we don't need. It only disguises the problem and postpones any positive solution.
Well I like to think I was responsible for the quick response and take the credit but I suspect it had already been reported! Not so much a pothole as a crater - hitting it burst my tyre and buckled my wheel so thats going to cost me a fortune to replace - I am not happy!

I have brought the question of potholes and resurfacing-v- filling up at Overview & Scrutiny, which is the council's watchdog committee. I agree that constantly filling them probably isn't the answer and I am on to it and will keep pressure on the council to find more lasting solutions.
The council are liable for your damages as far as I am aware. You're supposed to take a photo of the pothole and your buckled wheel.

Go on... you know you want to.
I've got a spare wheel if you want it - is it back or front?
Thanks Frank, thats a kind offer but I have already replaced the wheel (at great expense!!).
