Harringay online

Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

As our phones are getting smarter more and more we're using them to access the web on the go.

Harringay Online works fine from my mobile, but someone mentioned to me the other day that the site can take a while to upload.

So, if you've found that to be the case, here's an option a mobile version of just the latest activity part of the site.

Copy the url to your mobile for quicker cut-down access. (As Anette has discovered the option to text the mobile site link to your mobile DOES NOT work in the UK - only for the USA).

As always, feedback welcome.

Hell Hugh.

I've just tried out the mobile version and the news feed looks good.

One problem, when I click on the link it takes me to the profile page of the user rather than to the post they updated. For example, the top of the news feed at the moment is a reply from Liz about the snow. if I click on this I'm taken to Liz's profile page rather than to the snow story. Is there any way to fix this ?
What happens for me Nigel is that if I select a link from the front page of the mobile site, I'm taken to another page with an over sized pic of the person who wrote, then a link in to the discussion. The way it displays the discussions is a bit clunky.
HOL works fine (albeit fairly slowly) on my phone (using Opera Mini), but the mobile version goes to the profile page as you say (it also does the same if you use the mobile version in Internet Explorer). When you try again, it says:
"There was a problem signing in

(though cookies are enabled...)
of course, this was supposed to be "Hello" and not "Hell" !
This does not work for me at all. :( The SMS thingy does not work either.
SMS thingy?

Clearly the quick fix mobile site isn't that clever and needs some smartening up. Anyone got any expertise?
A site like HOL is never going to be that easy on a mobile phone - my suggestion is that anybody having difficulties uses Opera Mini which is what I use. It compresses the pages before they get sent to the phone which gets around some of the speed issues.

Which phone do you use that on Alistair?
Mine is a Nokia E61 which is a few years old now - according to the Opera site, it will install on loads of phones (including Blackberries) though possibly not iPhones (though judging by Birdy's message isn't a problem).

Oh, yes. Sorry about that Anette. Texting the address to your mobile only works in the USA.
Working fine on my new iPhone. : )
