Hornsey Gasholders Update
The skin of the tanks on No. 1 and No. 3 have been removed, the sludge has been pumped out and is being treated onsite. Work on dismantling the frames begins in two to three weeks.

Great pics, and good to see shovels in the ground at long last. This project has been planned for almost 20 years!

I find it very sad that the could (re would) not retain at least the oldest and smallest. It is a wonderful landmark. Other boroughs seem to have a lot more vision than Haringey.

the attached objection by the victorian society explains why the small gas holder is an important heritage landmark.
