Some time ago I posted questions about getting to the Velopark and had a variety of answers(one accurate!)
I have finally made the trip! Firstly, there is free parking on site and on adjacent road (they don't like to tell you that!)
The popular velodrome track was closed when I arrived so worth checking before you go.(it appeared to be open later as lots of smart road bikes arrived) The off road section is advertised as 'world class'. Sadly it is anything but. I am no more than a casual off-roader and have some experience but not any kind of expert. The 'moderate' track is one on which the complete novice could cope with at low speed and even the 'hard' track was not very testing. I had imagined steep climbs and 90 degree drops, but no such luck.
I covered the moderate section twice and the hard one once, and it hardly took me 20 minutes. The experience is of cycling inside spaghetti junction on a track some local kids knocked up. This might work for youngsters or inexperienced cyclists.
I will not be back, but instead go back to Epping Forest and the Chilterns!
