Justin not all the time, everywhere. For example, when a senior planning official described Tottenham as a "war zone", this was later clarified to mean only a particular part of Tottenham.
However at Wards Corner, much time money and effort has been wasted by the Council's insistence on imposing its own solution, working against the grain of the community, rather than working with the grain.
The determination is to homogenise it so that the look and feel would become like so many other developments. Yet Wards Corner is actually a bit special.
That is why Janet Harris and I (local Conservatives) have helped to keep the demolition crew at bay. Firstly, I took Mayor Boris to this gem (2008). He rejected the Grainger application and insisted the market must be "saved in its entirety". Janet later took LBH to the High Court (she rightly accused them of acting unlawfully). Had it not been for those two events, Grainger would have had the bulldozers in by now. The fight continues. Can't say the Tories are in the pocket of big business, can you? :)
Justin I wouldn't dream of commenting on which Party I think is in the pocket of big businesses!
Cannes, anyone?
Cannes not help suspecting that if these were Conservative Council representatives going to the French Riviera at the end of winter to discuss investment opportunities in Tottenham and Wood Green, local Labour would be going apoplectic ballistic and choleric.
However, as it's Labour going, it's more or less okay, we're sure their heart's in the right place!
