What's up with Thorium?

An alternative to Uranium:
The £24 billion build budget has spiralled at Hinkley, Thorium doesn't appear to have a contamination or decommissioning problem and it is everywhere, all downsides of nuclear, so we could invest further in R & D.

A new nuclear power station is planned for Bradwell, Essex, (a partially decommissioned nuclear powered site.)
Only 60 miles away, it has to be worth considering a more sustainable energy model.

While we are relying on £40 Billion for nuclear expansion, we can be considering alternatives for our energy needs.
