A baby can not and should not be trained to sleep ime.
It's different with an older child.
Hi Shoho_lyds, I feel for you, having been through years of problematic sleep with my children. I do agree with Angela however that small babies cannot sleep through the night and for most children it can take many months and even years for a minority (such as my first). To some level, we need to get used to this, become more accepting, and learn to go to sleep earlier to cope with it in a natural way.
Having said that, I know it can be really hard. There are also some common mistakes that people make with babies/toddlers that can lead to sleep problems.
I did call a sleep expert at one point but I could not go through with the method, which I thought was too harsh (most sleep experts basically tell you to let your child cry, so save yourself the money!).
In the end, I found the book "Good Night, Sleep Tight" extremely useful. It's a very gentle method that sorted out my first child's sleep (and also gave me plenty of useful advice on babies and toddlers) and ensured my second slept much better, in longer chunks and was generally a happy contented baby.
Good luck!
I have heard lots of good things about the No Cry Sleep Solution book: http://www.amazon.co.uk/The-No-Cry-Sleep-Solution-Through/dp/007138...
Not the same as a 'trainer,' but anyone who sees infants as needing 'training' is probably barking up the wrong tree. That phrase smacks of cry-it-out techniques, which have been shown to be damaging. This is a pretty accessible article that sums up the main points of why leaving your child to cry is a bad idea: https://www.psychologytoday.com/blog/moral-landscapes/201407/parent...
