Hey all, I noticed during Wireless a lot of people were disgruntled during the event and after with the lack of clear up so here's your chance to have a say http://applications.haringey.gov.uk/haringey-snap11-survey-ll.htm?k...

Whilst it was good to have access through the park it was limited and still meant that the bulk of useable area was fenced off by a giant steel wall - for weeks. I still find it amazing that Haringey Council thought it ok to fence off the park in such an intimidating and exclusive way. The clean up and repair has been haphazard at best. Carriageway repairs have now been completed as of last night although there are still sections that need attention. The routes through are now a two-tone patchwork and the new surfaces won't last - I watched the guys doing it yesterday afternoon and its make do and mend, not proper repair. And as for the day the park was reopened to the public on July 10th, its a miracle noone was badly hurt. Its been well documented here and elsewhere.
I agree, credit where its due but in this instance none is due as build-up, event and take-down were significantly worse than last year.
I am also a (twice) daily user of the park and I whilst I sympathise to some extent with the council over the cleanup saying that "Your account simply does not reflect reality" to JLJJones is really over egging it. They're close to the mark by my reckoning. Are you a local councillor BTW? A relative of a local councillor?
John
You clearly spend more time in the park than i do so I'm sure you have a clearer picture of park condition through the year. I travel a bit so don't aways get there but I've been around all summer.
One of my concerns with Haringay Online is the anonymity... usually means there's something to hide.

Thats up to you. I have nothing to apologise for - as you can see my comment is general, not specific.
localist do you work for the council or do you have close ties to a local councillor?

Please remember the above when replying, anonymously to threads I'm part of. Where evidence is necessary I'm sure it'll be provided to those that matter and not on here where transparency is not the order of the day. My post was a personal account as I stated. Please, I'd be grateful if you didn't confuse things again. And in my opinion, the council did not do a good cleaning and repairing job. Repeat, my opinion.

My final words on this... I don't campaign incessantly, at best I'm an occasional 'poster'. I'd prefer transparency not anonymity, I think it should be a condition of membership and maybe the moderators will change the rules, maybe they won't. Have a good weekend/
I reply as a named individual as before.
There's plenty of evidence and this will be presented at the right time to the right people. I like many am interested in living close to a decent, inclusive and well looked after park that doesn't have to be sold to big events for its upkeep. There are plenty of ideas flying around if Haringey are prepared to engage meaningfully with transparency.
For your information there's plenty of evidence re the dangers left in the park but I can only assume you see things differently.
have a good weekend

As already stated, any evidence will be presented I'm sure to those that need to know and can make the necessary changes - again, as stated, not on a forum where so many chose to be anonymous.
Thanks
