How much should a kebab on Green Lanes cost?

Last night I thought I would get a Lamb Shish from Flame but then remembered, it's closed :(

Not to be deterred I went further down the high street and stopped in at Hala. I was given a cup of Turkish Tea, which was very nice, and sat down outside to await my kebab. On reflection a large Lamb Shish at Flame was £5.50, a small one was £4.50. The one from Hala, which was no different to what I would get from Flame, was £8.50. Inflation? The tea? A reason why Flame is no longer with us?

i believe a large lamb doner from Selale is around £6.50. i say "i believe" as i'm a fat git and i always have a portion of chips as well ;-)

They were definitely £4.50 and £5.50 for takeaway.

I think Harran still do them for £6, or a small (one skewer) for £5. To my mind the best of the bunch as far as the meat is concerned, plus you get rice, salad, little pots of yoghurt sauce and chili, and of course bread. Tea is a courtesy offering and should not be charged.

We went to Selale last week and a small lamb shish was £8.50 and a large was £11.50 (eat-in prices so a bit more expensive.

At Gokyuzu the takeaway price is £9 for a small lamb shish or £9.50 for a large, and £11 for a large eat-in. Before I moved here, I first came across Efes in central London and it's only a pound or so more expensive)

The food is still delicious but it's becoming less family friendly budget wise. Flame/Bingals was great!
