Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!
NEW RIVER, WIGHTMAN ROAD N8 SECTION
Hi this probably applies to those who live on Wightman Road, whose houses back onto the New River . (our section being between Beresford and Effingham Rd)
On Sunday morning at 2am i could see torch light being shone though the New River fence into my garden. It appeared to be more than one person due to the amount of torch lights that were seen. This went on for 30 minutes but could have been longer.
The odd thing is the torch lights were quite close to the ground which means whoever would have been crouching down or possibly lying on the ground.
This was the side of the river bank which is supposed to be closed to the public.
I didn't report it at the time as i thought maybe due to tiredness i was seeing things. It's only the next day talking to my neighbours who state they had also seen this on two occassions in the last couple of months and it was torch lights being shone into the gardens through the fence at the bottom, which disapeared when they went into the garden to investigate.
This has been reported to the Police who have advised to call if we notice this again.

Probably looking for garden items to steal, a couple I know that live on the river near Enfield lost all their kids bikes etc overnight. They will have a vehicle waiting at the nearest bridge to load the goods into.
Trellis and climbing roses are often the best deterrent.
