Moped thefts on the ladder

My husband has recently had his moped stolen when it was parked on the road outside our house. The police came over and said it's been happening a lot in the area lately. Apparently mopeds are stolen and thieves then use them to drive passed pedestrians and take their mobiles phones. I think the police have been going door-to-door (on the ladder at least) to let residents know about this. But i wanted to let everyone know if they haven't already heard. So please lock up your mopeds and be careful when using your mobile on the street.
