Hello,
I'm hoping to get my kitchen re-done in August and was wondering if anyone could recommend a good kitchen fitter. I've had a look at check-a-trader and there are a couple listed within a ten mile radius who seem half decent, but it would be great to get some personal recommendations too.
Thanks in advance,
Eve

Hi
I will soon be using a fitter who is highly recommended by the builder and plasterer (both excellent) who are currently doing some substantial work for me - in fact he has fitted both their kitchens, he is apparently that good. I understand he is a very skilled carpenter/cabinet maker by trade which is an obvious advantage. He isn't the cheapest you'll find so it depends on how important to you the finish is. I've had a long conversation with him so if you pm me I can let you know more detail around how long the average kitchen takes to fit and his charges. Oh and he has a bit of a waiting list so if you're in a hurry.........
HI Steve,
I am also interested and not in a hurry, therefore I will message you for his details.
Thanks
Steve,
I would also like the details, equally not in a hurry so will pm.
Thanks
Hi can anyone recommend a kitchen fitter please? We are treating (!) ourselves to a new ikea kitchen.
Hi Sally
I used a superb guy called Bela - I have some 'engineering' experience so I worked with him and can honestly say he is one of the best tradesmen I've ever used. He is much more than a kitchen fitter he is an excellent carpenter. Bela can be contacted on: 07931729871.
Hi Steve
Have you pictures of his work I'm going to be looking for some kitchen units to be made
for my new flat. Many Thanks, Chris
Hi Chris
I hope this helps - Bela fitted this Nolte (German) kitchen for me but I subsequently found out he has them made which might be a more cost effective option.
I hope all goes well - Steve
Hi Steve,
I had Bela fit shelving for me and he was great. I am thinking about having a kitchen refit, not sure whether to go for full new or just worktops/appliances. But I struggle to get head around logistics. Did you source this kitchen yourself and if so who did you use? Then when it comes to plumbing/electrics did you engage with other fitters or did Bela manage the whole fit for you? I really like the pictures so feeling inspired to go for new. Thanks, Jane
Hi Jane
I fully sympathise with getting your head around the logistics, it's so important to get it right. I had ceilings down, floors up, walls down etc and eventually got there. I engaged David O'Doherty who is a very experienced builder as he's done work for me before. He supplied all the tradespeople apart from Bela, this came about as Dave's fitter's wife went into a coma! After much research including trade outlets I took Dave and his plasterer's advice and sourced the kitchen from C&C Kitchens, 797-799 Great Cambridge Rd, Enfield, EN1 3PN. They both had their own kitchens from them. Their kitchens weren't the cheapest but the quality was head and shoulders above other options. Strangely I could not beat the price of the appliances from C&C Kitchens which helped make my mind up. Since Bela did such a good job he and David have done quite a bit of work for each other in Haringey. My personal advice is if you are having any building work done get a quote from David (07830119421), he can supply all the tradespeople but use Bela to fit the kitchen. If it's just a kitchen and associated plumbing and electrics I think Bela can oblige. If you source all the trades separately be prepared for potential problems with coordination of availability etc and one blaming the other if things go wrong! Also I recall Bela makes his own Kitchens and I suspect the quality will be good and cost effective - I did not know this until I had bought mine! You could ask Bela to quote for a refurb or a complete refit, I have no doubt he will give you an honest assessment. Sorry if I've rambled a bit but I hope this helps. Any further questions feel free to get in touch, let me know how it goes and good luck. Cheers - Steve
Thanks Steve, this really helps. I won't have any building work as such but now thinking of full refit with new appliances. Most plumbing/electrics should remain in same place so would be ideal if single person can do (accepting where certified gas fitter may be needed) . I will go to C&C as will need ideas on what's available and take advantage any planning services. Think your units look great by the way. Jane
Hi Jane. Yeah I am pleased with the units. I dealt with Victoria Hudson from C&C and she was excellent and very patient particularly with all the alterations I made as the project unfolded. It was so refreshing to have the personal attention throughout. I did go armed with plans already drawn up from Homebase which I think helped! Again good luck - Steve
