Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Our black cat has been gone since Friday afternoon, so over 48 hrs now which he's never done before so we're getting a bit worried.

We are on Cavendish Road, close to the river.

He's quite small and has delicate features, will consent to being stroked but doesn't like being picked up. No collar but he is chipped.

I'm attaching some photos - please let me know if you think you've seen him.

Thanks!

Ah - actually, I did see a small black cat running towards me in the Passage on I think Saturday afternoon, either between Lausanne and Hampden or Hampden and Raleigh on my walk back from Turnpike Lane. He ducked into someone's back garden through a hole in the fence. Does that sound likely - it's quite a long way down from yours if so - maybe he just made his way down the passage?

Sorry I can't help more than that though - I really do hope he's ok, Tessa and you find him soon.

Thanks Laura. No idea if that would have been him, I'd be quite impressed if he got that far but with cats who knows?! Maybe I'll take a wander up there in daylight....

Thanks again.

I can't say if it was him but I petted a black cat near the passage/school on Pemberton earlier this evening around 6.30pm. This one didn't have a collar. I also saw a black back-end of a cat jumping at pigeons on the school roof (on the river side, my kitchen window faces on to it) I don't know if it was all black or even if it was the same one. Might be worth a look and if I see it again I will let you know.

Thanks Lauren, we'll keep a look out around the school. There are a lot of black cats around and I know they're hard to tell apart! Ours will come if I whistle for him but obviously only if he can hear me... I was on Pemberton last night but will try again tomorrow.

Will keep a lookout. Well done for microchipping him, if only everyone were so sensible. Remember to call the microchip company, tell them he is lost and check that they have your correct contact details.

It often helps to empty some contents of your hoover outside your home (or put out something which has his scent) as he will recognise scent even if quite far away. Flyers are useful, including roads with gardens backing on to your garden. He may have got trapped in someone's house or shed by mistake. It's also a good idea to put details of a lost pet on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk

There has been a black cat around in Duckett Road -  but seen before yours went missing, there's a photo of the cat on this post below. (it's not the subject of the post, it's a photo in a reply further down by C-Hemp)

Thanks Justine. I know it was back in April but the photo in the other post looks a lot like our cat, I have posted a reply there. We'll take another good look around Duckett - Pemberton tonight after school.

Have you found him yet?

There is a small black cat that doesn't have a collar than comes into my garden on Lausanne Road.  I have seen him before and he was around this afternoon but was chased off by my cat that is a similar size.

If you haven't found him if he comes back will try and get a photo.

Hi Sarah
Thanks for posting and no, we haven't found him yet. If you can get a photo that would be great. He has a few white hairs on his chest , just visible in one of the photos above but only when you're pretty close to him.
Tessa

In case relevant, here's a post of small black cat seen locally

My partner took this at 7pm today between Duckett & Mattison he thinks. We'd seen your posters yesterday and have been on the look out for Comet. Alan said he was small and a bit scared but didn't notice if he had a bent tail. Might this be him?

Oh thanks so much for keeping a look out. I can't really tell from the photo if that's Comet. We saw a cat we initially thought was Comet on Duckett over a week ago, but was a bit scared too and wouldn't come to us when we whistled our "food time" whistle, instead went along the river and into a garden between Cavendish and Duckett, so I think it's probably another cat. Also I would think Comet would find his way back to ours from so close - we are very close to the river on Cavendish, and both our cats definately go up and down the river side. I'll continue to keep my eye out though and whistle when I'm on Duckett or Mattison!

This is a black cat found locally, in case you haven't seen photo yet
