Me again. Should correct my previous post as he did eventually turn up and was helpful. I may have got confused about dates. Talking of confusion, all on this site, it seems that: 

Rob Murray= heating engineer

Pete Hart = heating engineer

Pete Murray= "Pete the Leak doctor"=plumber, stepbrother to Pete Hart [really!] 

Last is top notch plumber  from our experience, but unfortunately not a heating engineer.

Yep I had the same experience. I needed someone recently and got Rob's number from HoL. I left a message but he never even bothered to call me back. I wouldn't have minded if he had said he was too busy but the fact that he didn't bother returning my call just struck me as rude and unprofessional. I won't bother to call him again when I next need a plumber!

i regularly use Plumbingwise, a local company which i admit is run by a friend of mine but in all honesty his guys are friendly, reliable and do a good job for a fair price. it's a properly run company too, so you get all the guarantees and other paperwork.

Hello, just to add to the record for future searchers, I can also throw in a recommendation for Pete Hart as a heating engineer/ boiler repair man. Pete recently did a slightly tricky repair job on my faithful but ancient Vaillant boiler. I'd not used his services before, but I was very happy with the result. I would like to recommend Neil Protheroe (07731997936) as well. Very prompt reply and squeezed us in at no notice on a Saturday morning. He popped over early to have a quick look before his first job, and then came back later to fit the part.

Excellent service with a great big smile and cleaned away nicely after. Rates were reasonable and he quoted before he the the main part of the work, with no call out fee.

I will say that both Lisa and Greg Manaj replied promptly, just a very slight bit slower than Neil.
