Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Has anyone noticed a black tom cat in the area?  Or maybe he's yours?

He is black all over with white tips on the end of all four feet.  He's only started coming round in the last week or so and tries to get in my house through the cat flap and also my neighbours too.  And is upsetting all 4 of our cats.

Does anyone know anything about him?

Cheers

Alison

Sorry he's not familiar to me, but maybe try taking a photo of him as it will help people recognise him. If no-one recognises him on here, you could take him to the vet to be scanned to see if he's microchipped.

If the cat is not microchipped, maybe try putting a collar on the cat with a note attached with your tel no and see if any owner calls you.

I guess he could be new on the block or lost or if a cat doesn't have a cat flap and can't get into its own home, they will try to get into other homes for warmth/food. I always encourage cat owners to get their cat neutered, microchipped and have a catflap.

If the cat is not neutered, I recommend you get him neutered. It helps the cat and everyone else as then less vet bills as cat fights are reduced and it stops more kittens being born without homes.

Another useful website is www.animalsearchuk.co.uk as you can put details on there if you find or lose a pet.

Hi Justine

Thanks for your reply.  He is quite timid and is only coming close to the house at night, but I think he's not neutered because our cats are very wary of him.  And for that reason a photo is hard to get too unfortunately.

I'll keep asking around and check that website

Cheers

Yes it can be tricky. I've got a similar situation with a skinny black cat seen mainly at night in back gardens of Duckett rd/Cavendish rd (possibly living in a shed in a Cavendish rd back garden). Seems to be looking for food, would like to help it, but its very wary! I did put details on here as I was hoping someone would recognise it or catch it...Hopefully you'll get some answers.

For general info, rescue places such as the Mayhew can help with trapping and neutering.
