Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Our ginger cat shot out the front door this evening when visitors were leaving (around 8pm) and he hasn't returned, which is unusual as he is usually yowling at the front door after half an hour. He is Ginger with one white front leg and white bib, nose, tummy & back paws. Hoping some kind neighbour has taken him in for the evening and He'll make his way home in the morning, but incase anyone catches sight of him please let us know. We are half way up Seymour Road.

Unfortunately he hasn't returned this morning.  If locals would keep an eye out and contact me if you catch sight of him we would be grateful. He is wary of strangers so hoping he's not bee snatched. Here are some photos. Thank you HoL people.

Will keep a lookout, hope you find your lovely cat soon. It helps to know whether he is microchipped, neutered and whether he is wearing a collar.
If he is microchipped, remember to call the microchip company, tell them he is lost and check that they have your correct contact details.
If he doesn't show up or no one recognises him on here, it's a good idea to put up flyers as well.
When a cat gets out the front door by accident, they usually don't know where they are. Empty some contents of your hoover outside your home (or put out something which has his scent) as he will recognise scent even if quite far away.

Maybe change category of your post to Pets as more people might see it, instead of No Category.
It's also a good idea to put details of a lost pet on www.animalsearchuk.co.uk

Thank you Justine for your advice. He is neutered and microchipped - but this was done abroad and so i don't think he will be on UK database unfortunately. Leafletting & postering tonight after work.

It's really important to update the microchip contact details and this is still possible even if he was microchipped abroad. You just need his microchip number or the microchip company details. The uk microchip companies will help you as if you have a microchip number, it can be linked to the uk database and your current address.

If you can't update his microchip details, then if he doesn't show up, you will need to contact local rescue places and vets and give them his details/photo in case he is handed in as otherwise they won't know that he has an owner.

Oh no!! Hope he comes back soon!

The hoover advice is good.

Also - try calling him late at night when it's quieter. Your voice will carry further......

He came home!! at 0450hrs today he came back through the catflap at the back on the house, ran upstairs to our bedroom yowling for England!  Seems a little shaken by his 3 nights sleeping rough, but otherwise healthy - no tender areas on him and he is playing, eating and sleeping as usual - albeit a little jumpy.  Thank you ladies for your advice.  Very relieved all is well in our family now.

Oh bless......so pleased he came home unhurt after his little adventure.

.....if only they could talk!

That's great news!

I recommend that you check his microchip contact details work here or get him chipped here - only because sadly a lot of cats are put down by places like the RSPCA if they are lost/stray and are not microchipped or the chip contact details are not up to date on the database.

Your vet will be able to scan him for free for you to get the microchip number and you can then get it registered on uk database.

Thanks Justine - it's all in hand. So IF ever it comes to it details are up-to-date.
