If anyone was listening to the Arnold Bennett piece on Radio 4 you may not know that one of our local passages are named after him...

Or even IS ... as he lived nearby at 46 Alexandra Road

The old councils were dutiful in honouring real local heroes, like Coleridge, even if only temporarily resident. Now Haringey only seem to name streets after obscure, forgotten councillors.

Let's have Peter Sellers Gardens,  Logie Baird Avenues, Syd Barrett Streets ..

The passage just north of there is called Martin's Walk after Millicent Martin of That Was the Week That Was - she lived in Park Ridings.

In which case, given the pedestrian nature of the site and its prevalence of excrement, should we not rename the Harringay Passage as the Kober Pass?

This would acknowledge the pedestrian realities of said Councillor's vision, whilst also appealing to the Cockney remnants of the population.

And if we can have Mary Neuner Road a little west of that, why can't we change Effingham Road to Ginadamou Mirage? I'd like a road I could really swear by.
