Harringay, Haringey - So Good they Spelt it Twice!

Hi all,

I am working at the Haringey Migrant Support Centre, a drop-in centre on West Green Road. We giving free advice and help to migrants in and around Haringey.

One of our visitors, a destitute mother of two, is an amazing seamstress. She does not have the right to work in the UK at the moment and is looking for something to keep herself busy.

I was wondering if anyone has an old (or new) sowing machine they would be able to donate to her?

Any suggestions would be appreciated!

Thanks,

Maren

I have a spare Brother machine, bought about 4 years ago and no longer used because I have upgraded.

In return, I wonder if she will help me with a couple of things. I have been sewing a while but I have some things sitting unfinished in a pile because there are a few minor details I'm not happy with.

If this is of interest please send me a message and we can go from there.

Hi Lauren,

I will ask her on Monday when I'm back at work but I'm pretty sure she would be okay with that!

Thanks

I used to do some volunteering at a local migrant centre running a craft group (knitting, sewing etc) I wonder if that might be something I could help you with and this lady could be involved with or maybe even lead a project? If you want to chat about it message me your number. In the meantime I will get the machine out of storage!
